I’d like to share with you how I became a Virtual Assistant, specifically why I decided to specialise in Pinterest.
Before becoming a freelancer, I worked for more than 20 years for multinational companies, first in Italy and then in England (I moved to Manchester in 2014). In these companies, I had an administrative and financial role, which carried more responsibilities over time.
My experience over these two decades has helped me learn, grow and train at a professional level, as I interacted with colleagues, collaborators and management. It was a fantastic and rewarding experience, but at some point, something in me changed.
After many years in the office, I started to feel the need for more control, especially when it came to my own time. The typical 9-5 was starting to feel tight: the routine that up to that moment had worked well was beginning to suffocate me.
As I felt that I wanted to be more in control of my life and working hours, without too much hesitation, I left my job. The time had come for me to make available all my knowledge and experience gained over the years to others in a freelance role.
That is how Kaffeina Virtual Assistant was born.
Was that easy? Not really, but I will tell you in another article.
Pinterest as a Virtual Assistant service
I remember very well that day a few years ago when I came across a comment from a FB group made by a Pinterest Manager. It struck me. The first thing I thought was: “Is there such a thing as a Pinterest Manager”?
I have always loved this platform, which I mostly used personally, but I had never considered using it professionally. And specifically not just for my business, but to help other businesses too. That’s how I decided to add Pinterest management to my services.
How I trained as a Pinterest Virtual Assistant
Although I had personal knowledge of the platform, I knew I needed to train professionally.
So I started to learn as much as I could on the Web, following tutorials, free resources to absorb as much information as I could. But also, I wanted to find out how I could specialise in adding this service to my Virtual Assistant portfolio.
I must confess that I am a serial consumer of online courses. I found some good ones, others less so. Indeed, the most comprehensive online course I could find with tons of professional information was Kathryn Moorhouse’s Pinterest Gameplan.
Then, I met Valentina from socialmediablabla. Valentina was the coach who helped me build a targeted strategy on how to offer this service and how to help my clients with Pinterest. Her contribution was invaluable in providing a specific and well-structured plan to grow my business around my ideas.
I am still learning and improving my skills every day because Pinterest changes constantly, and I need to keep up to date, just like any other social media managers do.
What a Pinterest Virtual Assistant does
But in practical terms, what do I actually do? I help entrepreneurs who want to use this platform to promote their business and make themselves known online.
After an initial consultation to understand what goals you want to achieve, I start working with your account putting a strategy in place.
There are several services that Pinterest Managers or Virtual Assistant offers, but these are the ones I propose.
